Float in the air in a hot air balloon, over the scenic Berg River Valley outside Paarl. A hot air balloon ride in Africa usually takes place at sunrise, before thermal activity starts, so you will enjoy the light of the sun glistening on Paarl Rock, a gigantic outcrop of granite, the vineyards surrounding it and Table Mountain in the distance. All the manoeuvres are silent, except for the occasional blast of hot air. It will be the closest thing to feeling like a bird that you’ll ever experience. When we get back to terra firma, a delicious buffet breakfast will be waiting for you. The entire trip will take about an hour, but put aside 4 to 5 hours to include travelling and breakfast.
Safe hot air balloon flights depend on safe weather conditions. We cannot fly with fog, strong wind, too hot weather or rain. Before you come to the meeting point, we check the weather conditions and give you a wake-up call. We will explain how to assist with the inflation and within half an hour you will be airborne. Hot Air Ballooning is a sport and therefore everyone is welcome to help with rigging.
