Cape Town to Knysna 4 Day (4 Star) Outline
Day 1: Oudsthoorn
Small towns are dotted all along Route 62, on your way to your destination in Oudsthoorn. We’ll stop at Robertson to sample some of its excellent wines and then go on to visit the oldest and biggest cheetah and croc centre in the world. We’ll also stop at an ostrich farm, where you can learn more about this bird and maybe even get a chance to ride one! Enjoy dinner and an overnight stay in Oudsthoorn.
Day 2: Oudsthoorn/Knysna
Explore the town of Oudsthoorn, known for its ‘ostrich mansions’ harking back to a time when fortunes were made in ostrich feathers. Then it’s time for Cango Cave adventures where you’ll see breathtaking stalagmites and stalactites. We’ll traverse the Outeniqua Pass to Knysna, a scenic town squeezed between mountains, lagoon and ocean. You’ll have the option to have close encounters with elephants at the Knysna Elephant Park. You’ll dine and stay overnight in Knysna.
Day 3: Tstsikamma / Plettenberg Bay
Tsitsikamma is famous for its acres and acres of indigenous forests with giant yellowwood and stinkwood trees soaring into the sky. We turn down towards Nature’s Valley, a sleepy hollow that comes alive during holiday season. You have an option to visit Monkeyland and Birds of Eden before we carry on to Plettenberg Bay, one of South Africa’s premier holiday spots with endless golden beaches and tranquil lagoons. Dinner and overnight is in Knysna.
Day 4: Mossel Bay
Mossel Bay played an important role in the initial discovery of the southern tip of Africa. After breakfast and a visit to the Knysna heads, we set off for a safari tour on a 4 x 4 at a game reserve just outside Mossel Bay that’s home to a wide range of wild species. In the afternoon we return to Cape Town.
