The beauty of the Western Cape lies in its diversity – from undulating vineyards, soaring mountains to arid plains with its own inherent magic – you will see it all in one day.
Cape Town to Knysna Tour Outlay
Day 1: Oudtshoorn
Our destination for the day is Oudtshoorn, a town in the Klein Karoo that became famous at a time when ostrich feathers ruled the cat walks. It’s also home to the amazing Cango Caves with its cathedral like chambers. On the way to Oudtshoorn, we stop off at Robertson for some wine tasting and before we book in for the night, we visit an ostrich farm where you can learn more about this flightless bird and maybe even get a chance to ride one!
Day 2: Knysna
We kick off with a visit to the Cango Caves and then head for the quaint town of Knysna via one of the most scenic drives in South Africa. The Knysna Heads form a gateway between the lagoon and the ocean and offers spectacular sights. We also visit the Knysna Waterfront where you can indulge in some shopping before we go and have a peek at Plettenberg Bay, the holiday destination for some of the country’s rich and famous. A visit to the Elephant Park outside Knysna is optional. We go back to Knysna for dinner and overnight stay.
Day 3: Mossel Bay
We depart from our hotel to the seaside town of Mossel Bay, where we’ll go on a 4×4 safari, a must-do for anyone travelling the Garden Route. In the afternoon, after ticking some of the Big 5 off your list, we head back to Cape Town.
